Hot damn, has it been a MONTH already, since my last post?!  Embarrassed again, and my apologies!

TONS of stuff has been happening, with finishing final papers, working my rump off at the oyster bar, helping a friend move to Boston, and my holiday trip to L.A.....whew, I'm tired just re-reading this sentence!

I will certainly share a very detailed exposition of my first time to California, which will be loaded with fun food photos and beautiful images of L.A....that's where my sister lives now.  So, I thought, why not spend the holiday with her?  It was GORGEOUS, sunny and 70 degrees everyday!  Each morning, I took my percolated cup of coffee onto my sister's porch, took a sip, and just savored every bit of the scenery, the palm trees, and those sunny Cali skies.

In the meantime, how was everyone's holiday?  I'm currently enjoying my first day off since working New Year's Eve weekend, which was equal parts exciting and stressful.  The b/f and I enjoyed a rare date night and had some small bites at Myers and Chang.  Tea-smoked duck salad and the crispy arctic char were my favs, along with one of their new cocktails, called "Bloodlust" [blood orange margarita with a sriracha rim!]

With the crazy December schedule and all, I'm anxious to get back in the kitchen to concoct some fun, wintry/warming recipes and share them with you!  My sister lent me a Three Bean and Turkey Chili recipe, and I decided to bake some buttery cornbread to accompany it.  I can put those pictures up soon, but in the meantime......these are a few random musing for you to critique/drool over.

If you have any questions, ideas, fun tidbit rec's for me to add to the blog, feel free to comment and chat with me.  Ciao ciao for now!

Turkey, Brie, and Arugula Pizza...yep, rolled out the dough all by myself!

Chicken Cordon Bleu with spiced eggplant puree, brown butter cauliflower,

and a simple arugula salad with lemon and olive oil.

Smoked Salmon "McCognac" and roasted blue/yukon potatoes, at Cognac Bistro.

Eggs Benedict, homemade english muffin, and asparagus...CB is awesome!
